Soucek red card overturned
Soucek red card overturned
Man Utd v West Ham (Tues, 19:30 GMT)

Simon Stone

BBC Sport

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has been cleared to play in Tuesday's FA Cup tie at Manchester United after his controversial red card was overturned.

It was the second decision in five days involving Mike Dean and Lee Mason that has been changed.

There were not many who agreed with the weekend call, although Hammers manager David Moyes didn't absolve Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, who went down screaming and holding his face after the slightest of touches.

Surely now Mason and Dean need to be suspended or something?

When there's these sort of mistakes, the Refs should be punished.

Absolutely baffling decision by everyone involved.

Justice!

If justice ruled completely, Mitrovic would now be punished. Lanzini got a judged by video ban, so why not him?

Expect after 3 mins he will stride to the touchline holding up the board telling no.28 of West Ham to come off

Apparently Dean has reported a number of threats made to his family to the police.

The bloke is a cunt but threats of violence aren't a great idea.

Re: Soucek red card overturned
Its a smokescreen as he knows he has fucked up, he always has to be center of attention and this "death threat" is a diversion tactic

That's right, punish him for being elbowed in the face. What a drippy cunt you are.

I'd like to see the threats. I suspect the vast majority are of the 'I hope you and your missus get cancer and die' type, rather than the 'I know where your kids go to school' variety.

I'm not condoning either, but there is a difference..

Mason and Dean should serve a 3 game ban

Dont condone threats etc but he cant moan about getting grief after being so unbelievably shit at his job last week or so

Re: Soucek red card overturned
Death threats to his family IF TRUE are ridiculous but this is the inevitable outcome for a needy attention-seeking clown who constantly puts himself at the centre of everything

This is the natural conclusion playing out

Until they stamp out corruption at all levels of football, this nonsense will continue.

The bloke has been at it for years.

2003 Highbury?

Except he wasn't elbowed in the face. Nothing happened to him that merited his reaction, but of course you know that, unless you actually think it looked painful.

Re: Soucek red card overturned
Surely that is career ending for Dean? He spent 3 and half minutes staring at a screen, watched it countless times and still got it wrong. He has to be finished as a professional ref.

Re: Soucek red card overturned
And here comes the FA spin, jumping on the social media abuse bandwagon. Apparently had death threats to him and his family and has asked not to officiate in this upcoming weekends round of Premier League matches. So no mention of death threats after the Southampton game? No but West Ham’s naughty fans obviously are nasty pieces of work, this could be a convenient way to remove Dean from the Premier League list after so many high profile fuck ups in the time he’s been a referee (responsible for 7% of all red cards in Premier League history) move him on with the blame on anyone but himself with a big thank you probably an nice touch of a golden handshake etc.
I will add I don’t obviously condone abuse of any kind on social media or any other platform by these pathetic cowards but this is announced at the very same moment as they announce the red card for Soucek is rescinded I find far to convenient
